The Friends of TimeShop are critical to our exciting and unique living history workshops on world history, in which kids and college students move through a series of themed rooms having fun, and learning together...without ever hearing the word "educational"!
Naturally, we're delighted to hear from Friends with a direct connection to Georgia and to Georgia Southern University. But we value the support of everyone, no matter how far away, who appreciates our creative approach to history for kids, and who would like to see us expand our work with children and college students here in the rural Deep South to areas across the United States. It's easy to become a Friend of TimeShop from anywhere in the United States, or the world. TimeShop is supported through the Georgia Southern University Foundation, Inc., which is qualified by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax exempt 501(c)(3) corporation.
Your Friends of TimeShop Membership Supports...
As a Friend of TimeShop, you support TimeShop programs, present and future. Your tax-deductible gift will support:
- Objects and costumes to create the TimeShop experience of everyday life in another time and culture for our kids.
- Scholarships for TimeShop kids. Our “check the box, hassle-free scholarships” and partnership with Boys and Girls Club of Bulloch County helps ensure that all kids have a chance to come to TimeShop.
- Training materials to maximize the experience and qualifications of Georgia Southern University student volunteers.
- Prizes for workshop and web site contests, including books and real objects from the past. We give away lots of prizes to TimeShop kids, because a coin collection may start a lifetime interest, and a book can spark or nurture a child's love of reading.
- Meals for TimeShop volunteers and kids. Our grants don't cover food, and your contributions help keep everyone fed and happy, including foods authentic to the place and period for the kids.
- Time for faculty members from heavy teaching responsibilities to create and develop TimeShop programs. Stipends to the students who make extraordinary commitments to building this program.
- A Future for TimeShop. We would like to extend the TimeShop philosophy of hands-on history, done with enthusiasm, substance, and good humor, to more children, especially in under-served communities. Your gift will help us dream big.
All donors of $25 or more become members of the Friends of TimeShop for 12 months. Your name will appear on our Founding Members list.

Checks: Please make checks (U.S. dollars only) payable to Georgia Southern Foundation. Please write TimeShop (Account 0719) on front. How to send a donation by Mail.

Be sure to note on your check and the form that your donation is for TimeShop (#0719) and give card type (VISA, Mastercard, American Express or Discover), expiration date, name as it appears on card, and amount.
A Day for Southern: Alumni, friends, faculty and staff of Georgia Southern University can designate any portion of your Day for Southern contribution or pledge for TimeShop. Just give your ADFS volunteer the account number #0719 and mention TimeShop.
How to Join TimeShop Friends Across the World...
We welcome you to join Friends of TimeShop from outside the United States, too! Online donations will soon be available for your convenience. Meanwhile, you are invited to join by mail or phone, using a major credit card. It's easy!
To join by mail, using a credit card: Write to the Georgia Southern University Foundation. You can print out and post this online form . Be sure to indicate that you are making a donation (not a pledge) and next to "Other (please specify), note "TimeShop, #0719)). The XE.com Universal Currency Converter will help you to calculate the approximate amount of your gift in dollars. However, your donation will appear on your credit card bill in your home currency. Regretfully, we cannot accept checks in any currency other than United States dollars.
